The Christmas decorations and coming down and It's a new year. Most of us are still trying to loose the pounds from Christmas dinner.
Many of us will be starting a New Years Resolution soon, but why not make a resolution to grow closer to Jesus?

Jesus has given us a new year to live and enjoy. New Years can be hectic, but if we give the new year to God, and let Him have full control, then we will gladly prosper in the months to come.

The new years are always special to me because I started preaching in the first month of the year. My resolution for this year is to grow closer to God and to let Him use and guide me the best way He sees fit.

As 2008 starts I pray that all of you will grow closer to God in the following year.   

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Since we just entered the new year I thought we should look at "Renewing our Minds" for Christ!
Each and every day we need to give God our lives, that is what a living sacrifice is, one that wants to see God will done in their life by turning their whole life over to Him. Now we should not present God with an un-holy, unclean vessel, but rather with something He can mold and sculpt.
How can we expect God to give us His full blessings if we are not willing to give all of ourselves to God?

This month is an exciting month for us, as we are celebrating our 5th year in the ministry!

As I look back over the year, I have preached to crowds as small as six, and as many as 200-300. Besides Salvation, there is nothing more important then reading the Bible and having a close relationship with God. So to celebrate 5 years in the ministry I have put together a year long Bible Reading Guide. This guide is for no year particular and can be reused over again.

I would like to thank all of you for all the prayers and support you have given me over the years. My goal is to reach as many unsaved people as possible.

Verse 2 says to not be  conformed to this world. Which is telling us to be not like like the world, but rather be transformed into something different. What does transformed mean? It means to change, you see when we rebuke the world and make a stand that we will follow God, there should be a change in us.

Sometimes our mind gets us into trouble, we can have many kinds of sin enter into our mind, but did you know you can control what enters your mind?
When you get a bad thought in your mind don't entertain (ponder) that thought, because what happens, you start thinking about the sin and the Devil try's to make it more pleasing.
The best way to renew your mind is to read the bible, and pray. Not only do you get a closer walk with God, but He can also reveal to you what is sin.

In 2008 make a Resolution to Renew Your Mind and to grow closer with Him.

McClurg Ministries is the ministry started by Lee McClurg. Lee started preaching in early 2003, and you could say that the ministry started there. The first website was uploaded in 2003 also.

In late 2006 Lee got a vision for a new website, one that would have the tools to give people spiritual help, and to help witness to the lost. In February 2007 the new website was completed and uploaded.

"The goal of my ministry is to spread the word of God, and to help people get closer to Him. Over the last 5 years God has expanded my ministry farther then I could have ever imagined. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for me and my ministry in the years to come."
